I know this is super, ridiculously ironic because this is a blog. And I'm typing this post on my phone. And this is my photo I took on the beach. But shuffle that back long enough to hear, you need a detox. I need a detox. Not from carbs and the Christmas candy I just hid on a shelf behind a picture frame, even though obviously I could use that too, but a phone detox. I know, I know, it's painfully cliche. But seriously. This summer take a few minutes every day to detox. Trust me, between blogging and online classes and work, I'm on my phone all day tapping and typing it up, and it's stuff I need to do. Work, school, important tasks. So I get that you can't just turn your phone off and get all Amish on everyone for a week. This is real life. The fortunate part, is that even with crazy psycho schedules, you're always going to have some down time. So five minutes, ten, an hour, two hours, whatever is doable, do it. Throw your phone in your purse or put it on the charger and head out. No pictures, no snapping, no gramming [is that what they call it?] no nothing. Remember the good old days when you could enjoy life without a screen in your face. Muster up all your self control and resist it. At first it's weird, seeing and doing everything without the intent of adding it to your snapchat story, but it's so refreshing to get out of a screen and head back to the real world for a bit.
